I have just covered Audrey II number 3 in spandex, stitched on some lips and did some painting. All in two days! YES. Here is a (rather bad) picture of the painted pod! Next up is to add "the stem" to this pod. Now, if only I was this close to finished with the rest of the pods...

Short People - Cedwan Hooks
When I returned home from the Nation Puppetry Festival, I helped with a touring puppet show of the story St. George and the Dragon at the Paul Mesner Puppets. It was an amazing learning experience, and it taught me a ton about live theater, stage, and sound setup. I also learned a lot about the business side of things. When the tour ended, I had a bit of time on my hands, so I built a giraffe body puppet with cable-controlled mouth and eyelids. It was built with mainly plastic hoops, armature wire and foam with a fleece covering. I then used it for an original piece that I performed at the KC Puppet SLAM at Paul Mesner Puppets. I sang LIVE in costume! Take a look.
Cookie Time!
It's time to kick back! This is a music video that I produced, edited, and directed for Jim "Mr. Stinky Feet" Cosgrove, a very famous children's music artist. Keep an eye out for "Bop Bop Dinosaur"! He's the record label (Hiccup Productions) mascot and, well... let's just say that I became very good friends with him and "coached him on his movement".

Audrey's frame! Been a while....
Here you can see my lovely assistant puppet builder modeling the frame of Audrey II number four. The frame is very light and compact, and it is built off of a backpack.
The bar stock for the puppet is fastened together and ready to be covered in foam.
Here is some video of the mouth movement. The puppet will have very accurate lip-synch, and will eat people in a very unique way, but you'll have to wait until later to hear about that...

The Start of Audrey II
Starting this month, I am building the Audrey IIs for a high school production of Little Shop of Horrors. I am on a tight budget, but I am determined to build some amazing puppets. I have decided to start with the largest embodiment of the plant. Above are some wires that I am using for the framework. They are temporarily taped (so that I can see the shape) and will eventually be bolted together symmetrically. I will keep you all updated on the build. Wish me luck!
